Video Wills Proof of the due execution of the testator will become more certain when substantiated by a video recording. For example, the video recording will show the testator declaring the instrument to be his/her last will and testament, the testator affixing his/her signature or mark upon the document, the required number of witnesses observing the will execution and their signing in the conscious presence of the testator.
Establishing the main elements of testamentary capacity may be accomplished by having the testator answer certain questions on videotape, which are intended to prove clearly and convincingly each of these elements. A large majority of the courts in the United States are in total agreement as to what the evidence must show.
Mediation Documentaries
The purpose of doing a Mediation Documentary is to portray the damages that a client may have sustained because of an incident causing an injury. The jury must see and understand how the plaintiff's life has been altered. This is difficult to measure, however the purpose of the documentary is to help the viewer measure the loss. Judges have ruled time and time again having a video recording is the best way for a jury to evaluate this issue. It is not possible nor practical for a jury to spend time in the plaintiff's environment, however a video documentary depicting the plaintiff in his/her environment fills that void.
Depositions The most common use of video in the legal profession today is the video recording of depositions. Southern Legal Media uses professional video equipment to record all of our legal videography services. We feel if a witness is important enough to be called live at trail but cannot attend for any number of reasons, the best choice is a video-taped deposition. None of the other media offers the capability of effectively presenting as many communication cues for the unavailable witness as the video recorded deposition. The jury can see the demeanor and body language of the witness, instead of simply hearing the testimony read aloud from the transcript. Videotaped testimony can help the jury gauge the witnesss credibility.
Re-enactments One of the best ways to show the jury how an incident occured is by showing them a re-enactment of the event. Our videographers and editing team has the technology to go out, film the area where the incident occured, bring the footage back to the editing suite and take all of the information that is provided by the client and police reports and generate a re-enactment of what happened. This type of video is one of the best ways to show the jury exactly what happened.
Corporate Video
Video has become the single most important way to communicate ideas. With a custom made production, you can sell, influence train, explain and project image. With your own corporate video production, you get the best of both worlds- moving pictures rather than stills, a narrative which decribes and truly interesting production which persuades, teaches or sells. Southern Legal Media can provide you with a range of ways to distribute your corporate video so it's seen by people who matter - on DVD, Blu-ray, the internet, mobiles devices and television.
